    FS: @eBay - 1965 Barn Find 356 SC

Here we have a true barn find. This matching numbers Porsche 356 SC was parked in 1969 when its college student owner overheated the engine and sold the car to her mechanic rather than repair it. He put it in his basement and it didn't see the light of day until a month ago when we pulled it out. Per the included copy of the original Kardex, this 356 SC left as a 1965 model in Slate Gray paint over black interior. The original engine case, serial number 812248, is included with all three pieces of the case stamped a matching 164. The car also retains its original transmission. The engine in the car is a 356C motor that appears complete but is untested.

The floor pans show some rust and there was some patching done in the front, The battery box is similar. We took photos of most angles of the car so you should get an idea of the overall condition there. While the exterior was repainted, the dash retains its original slate gray finish. It's not every day that an opportunity to restore a car like this presents itself. The 356 SC was the pinnacle of the 356 development and is the most drivable and refined 356 built. This is a rare example with matching engine case and transmission, which means after the restoration you'll have a very rare and desirable car. This one is worth any restoration you throw at it because a matching numbers SC will command top money, especially in the rare Slate Gray color. Don't miss out!
