FS: 1965 912 -- apart and as rustfree as I have seen

I have a pal who is a hunter gatherer. He goes and fetches Porsches and then asks me to help him sell them so he can buy the next one. It's probably a sickness, but he does find some pretty special cars.

This was an abandoned project, a light ivory/black 65 that was painted in some kind of ivory shade and partly reassembled. Glass is still out and bumpers are off. You could just put it together and have a nice driver, or you could paint light ivory...

Aside from being rust free, it's the one with non-adjustable front struts, VIN tag next to VIN stamp and 4-screw horn grilles. I have not inventoried all the parts, but it seems to be at least 90% complete. The engine is out, but complete and a match. Unsure on the transmission, but likely also a match. As with any "apart" project, it's best to come see it yourself. It's in Van Nuys CA. If you can't be there, I can be local eyes and ears.

    Sold ($25K)

hello, just clicked the link and read the text summary there.

imho there are no feb 65 built 912. they started building them from april 65. deducing from the vin it was probably built between august and october 65. you might want to update the sale text.

kind regards from an early 12 owner.

Thanks! Got info from the factory bit by bit: match; colors, but without the Kardex, I just guessed build dates for 912s were in sync with 911s, as IIRC, they were built at 2X the volume... Appreciate the correction it's a friend's car and I'm fairly ignorant about 912s vs 911s.
