    Title Help

I need a recommendation for an attorney in Illinois to help me getting a title for a car I bought out of state.

What you need is some enforcement to pry the title out of the sellers hands.

It's complicated. Bought the car in Florida from a dealer. That dealer previously bought it from dealer in New York. The last time titled 2 years ago to the guy who lived in Ohio and sold it to the New York dealer. The guy in Ohio signed the title and had it notarized at the time of sale. Illinois DMV won't accept the Title with only the original owner's signature and no proof of ownership transfer to the 2 dealers !!

Do a online search for title services that register the car in a non-title state, then "sell"the car back to you, with a new title. The last time I did this it cost about $500. Much cheaper than a lawyer.

Sorry I don't remember the company I used.

I had to use this in the past on a lost title / old beater.

May I ask why using a title service doesn't work for you?

I have to agree; why use a blood sucker when there are so many great title services available?

The most complex title problems have cost me less than $500. A seasoned title company sees this stuff all of the time. A lawyer will make a huge deal out of it... but isn't that the point?
