Recaro Ideal S seats with the Polomo design recliners

I bought these Ideal S seats a while ago here. I love them but they're WAYYYYY too heavy as-is. I had bought a while back a set of the Pompolo tilt brackets. I put them on today and I'm happy with the results. I had to install the plates with the inner on the outside because the offset on the sport seat brackets is different, but they work fine this way. someday I might cut the round hole in the outer bracket to a square, then I can put the carriage bolt through from the outside and will look much prettier. also fake up a screw head for the middle hole. I bolt the seats directly to aluminum cross rails in the car so I don't use the sliders. now the seats weigh in at 33 lbs each. still heavier than what I have now but do-able, especially considering the comfort and coolness factor of the Recaros. someday I'll fab the side mount brackets in aluminum so I can ditch a couple more pounds.

Here is a recliner I made up for the recaro sport seat. As I don't have a Recaro Sport seat recliner to work with I 'm not sure of the offsets required. Go to the 912 POLO Car drop down on the toll bar for more info than whats on this one page.

cmpski, attached a couple of pics. ( also another of the seat cuz it's so damned cool ). basically with the sport recliner both mounting faces are on the same plane. on a regular recliner, they're offset. on my seats now, the bottom bracket is slightly outboard from where it would be ideally. if it would help, I can loan you a sport recliner to use as a template.

    ps. made some pm room.

Here are a couple of pictures. Some in steel and chrome and some in polished aluminum. The people who did the chrome shut down. If someone wants chrome you'll have to find your own source as there aren't any in Denver that I know of. I'll be shipping out a polished aluminum set out tomorrow.
