I'm not saying there isn't a specialist guy here in Bris with intimate knowledge of the 911 sheet metal and fabrication, I just haven't found him. Michael at Promotive is actually as good as they come with metal fab, but bodywork and paint generally isn't his thing.

Are you handy? You can do a lot yourself...

Not that handy! I believe that what needs doing in the first instance (suspension pan) doesn't need to be pretty, but it does need to be straight and right otherwise I'll be in a world of hurt. So it's worth having it done properly.

I'll keep asking around, someone will turn up.

    Hello Simon

For what it's worth I had a lot of body work done on my 69 T at GT motors in Albion and very happy with the results. They know how to work metal.

Excellent info Ruphis. Do you have some photos of the work? You just can't turn up here with no photos!

    Hi Simon,

Welcome aboard. Looks like there is a wealth of great info coming your way already. This is a phenomenal resource. Looks forward to photos of your car. I have been planing a cars and coffee at my workshop one weekend soon. The last three months seem to have slipped by. Hope you can make down once I sort a date out.

Tim, thanks, I really appreciate everyone's help. I saw your workshop thread and the cars and coffee … and wondered if it ever happened. Would definitely make the effort to come as long as there isn't family shenanigans on. Although Sunday morning is my morning off so bring in on!

    Welcome to the zoo Simon.

John and Tim will lead you astray... sorry that should have been wise counsel .

We are quite an active and vocal bunch.

I like the idea of buying parts before you have already bought the car ... not even I have attempted that one.
