    1983 Audi 4000S 2 door for sale...

Up for sale is an Amazing and very Rare 1983 Audi 4000S 5sp, 2 door in Zermat Silver, optional Blue cloth interior with oem Recaro sport seats. This car has been very well maintained with a thick stack of service records from new!! It has no rust, and has never been in an accident. Mileage is true @ 217k (yes the odometer still works so miles are true at 31 years old) but most everything has replaced and or in original good order!! It is very Quick but also combining with good fuel economy @ 30+mpg... It has the high compression 1.8L that also came in the 83-84 VW Gti and is a blast to drive! Other mentions: New Bilstien suspensions, new sport exhaust, new wheel bearings/brakes, and good Tires with alignment just completed, Euro (e.code)headlights.. sunroof and windows are manual and operate perfectly!

That's a really nice car at a fair price! Super rare. Many of these that are left are getting cut up to make Sport quattro and S1 replicas. They share the windshield, A-pillars and doors with the Sport - graft an ur quattro rear onto it and you're good to go. It would be a shame to see this one get cut, but good luck on the sale.

I have the same car with same color combination, but with the original grille and 4 headlight arrangement for US spec.

It has about 1/2 as many miles and if you were to give me an offer of 3 times what you are asking, it would never leave my side.
I simply love the tossability, the athletic prowess it has. It makes such a grunty sound from that 4 cylinder engine, it simply mesmerizes. That 5 speed stick is so wonderful, it almost seems like it knows where to go on its own. The ride is compliant and non tiring, yet sporting. The handling is spot on and invigorating, and those Recaro seats are focused in their support with a neat little air bag to pump up for lumbar comfort.

( my black trim is beginning to peel a bit around the windows and fleck off, but as far as rust or corrosion it looks as pure as yours does. I say this sincerely : for the paltry amount you are seemingly asking, why not just keep it and enjoy it ? The next owner may well not have such a fondness for it and simply discard it after a short stay in his driveway......... from Audi Club sources, it seems only around 500 or less were imported to America.
There surely cannot remain many in driving form.
    Best Regards,
