Something lovely at Gooding's Pebble Beach Auction: 917-024

Just thought I'd throw this up here because it's such a beautiful car, says Jo Siffert in the add and everything.

Wonder who will get this one? Dang. No time like the present

I am pretty sure that was on the Passport truck that I just loaded my 67s onto for its voyage back to CA for its final touches...

Any time you get to see a car like that up close is very special. Even if the thing is elevated up into the front corner of an enclosed custom car hauling rig ...

Did you see the bottom side? That would be nice too...

HAH....it was in that very location!

I only was able to see the front of the bottom...I didn't want to over stay my welcome in the truck. Driver was very protective..understandably. He stated that he thought it was worth $1.8M...I suggested it may be worth slightly more.

The Holy Grail of Porsches. I have so much respect for the history of these cars. The above pic was his funeral in Switzerland. More than 50,000 people attended. Is this very car being sold at Gooding the same car that was at his funeral?
