Flag mirror? Elephant ears? What are the mirrors called?

I, and other enthusiasts, seem to frequently call both the earlier chrome (and black) manually adjustable mirrors as flag mirrors as well as the later electronically adjustable mirrors introduced in 1976. Which one is actually the flag mirror? I've heard a few people mention the later electronically adjustable mirrors as "elephant ear" mirrors, but this doesn't seem to be commonly used. What is the correct terminology?

    Sincerely,
    Confused

I meant the correct terminology to distinguish from all the variations (e.g. the 1972 flag is different than the 1973 G-series flag mirror, which is different than the 1976+ electronically adjustable flag mirror, which is different than the Australian mirror, and different than the British Durante mirror used in the same years, etc). I didn't know if there were more standard terms to describe those variations.

I never knew Australia got its own mirror.

Safest to use the part numbers if you want to avoid confusion across so many variables. I'd only ever been as granular as small Durant, large Durant, flag, painted flag, electric flag (wasn't that a band?) and cup.

I apologize for my smart ass answer. Any term other than "rear view mirror" is some slang term invented by a bystander.
