    Accelerator pedal linkage thru firewall.

On my 74, and earlier on a 73, a straight very stiff "wire" (I think called a "pull rod" in PET) leaves the side of the transmission, comes thru a hole in the firewall, and connects to the carb linkage. Neither car had any sort of rubber grommet at the hole in the firewall and Pet doesn't show one. Is that the way it should be? Porsche was so careful with such details it seems hard to imagine they just allowed such a large opening!

    Hi James,
your car should have a Sealing Sleeve,901 423 593 00 at the end by the rear bulkhead to seal tunnel to throttle linkage through tunnel.
