Whatever...I've never heard of these guys. It appears these guys track and evaluate collector car prices, just like Hagerty and many others. But apparently they have a crystal ball...I will just continue to enjoy my car.

They're trying to make more news. The fact is that there isn't enough statistical data to be reliable…you'd need a large number of cars of similar condition and appeal over the relevant period. Their own article also defeats itself with reference to the RS pricing in that the record price is very recent. A year ago the prices were (apparently) lower.

For now, I'm just happy to enjoy the prospect of completing my project and having fun on driver's roads with like-minded souls.

There's enough data out there if you know where to look and, most importantly, how to use it. The guys at HAGI are very smart. I'm considering attending their conference this October. There's an email list you can subscribe to if anyone's interested. They also provide other services and I'd recommend contacting them if you have more than an enthusiasts interest in the market and a passion for data.

Is there information on what models they include on the P index? I understand the MBCI index picks up classic Benzes but the P index only includes "rare" models.

    Cheers,

HAGI is pretty good. They only deal in the very high end stuff though. If I remember correctly their index is based on the 100 most collectible cars. I suspect they may be correct but we're going to have to see what happens at Monterey. Once all the auctions are done we can get a better idea about where this market is going.

I subscribe to the HAGI index and other like publications. I find their info to be spot-on for all their index's.

I guess I just don't pay enough attention to values/projected values. I must be living in a closet and I only come out to enjoy my car...

What's not taken into consideration is the drivability factor. What's that worth? I suspect that the higher the car value the less drivability that car will get.
