We have what I believe has turned into The Mother of All C&Cs, here in Irvine, CA

I'm not usually in the area on week-ends any more . . . but I was invited to attend/meet Don Murray, this particular one, so . . .


This Little Gathering goes off every Saturday --- except for Christmas + Monterey Week. (One must have standards) Originally started quietly-enough, down on around Lantern Bay/Newport Coast, some years back, then had to move because, well . . . you'll see

First up . . . a Car Show in the Parking Lot . . .

Only 2nd one that I've ever seen --- outside of an auto show. Notice the plate? Does anyone know anyone who actually 'buys/owns' these?

This Alpina's a bit over-the-top ($?) . . . but I love these lil Euro-spec 'bikini' bumpers

Also, the Alpina wheels + addenda. Stripes? --- not-so-much . . . but they do 'work,' here

Lotsa glass, Big Six + stick, LSD . . . + room for my Nasty Dog

Believe it or not --- Early 911 participation is down A LOT at Irvine, from a few years ago. Keep in mind, also, that there are tons of people in that area w/ money/cars/time, who come + take part . . . so our cars can get squeezed-out, sometimes

There is the week-end before the 356 Club's Dana Point Show . . .

Porsches + Owners come to town for the Concours that takes place on Sunday, and so show up at Irvine the day before

Alpine A110 . . .

Dedicated rally car. Not the most powerful car --- depending on spec, never more than 140 hp (?) . . . but v light: steel back-bone frame w/ fiberglass bodywork = 1500 lbs = formidable

First WRC Champion, '73. Stratos came out the following year
