    muffler clamps don't fit

I attempted to attach muffler with the two new stainless muffler clamps and discovered that they are too large when fully tightened. No number on the clamp and the muffler appears to be standard. The diameter when fully closed is approximately 7 inches. the application is a 1971 911T. (2.2 ) are there different sizes...and if so, what am I missing

Probably a stupid question, but are you passing the bands over the black muffler bracket?

Get some longer bolts so you can pull the straps up tight and then move to the original bolts and go'

Yes, there are different straps, you have ones for a later larger diameter muffler.
