    Engine #Pos 10953?

    bought a 2liter 911 engine(casted in 66) that has a strange serial# have a look at the pic...and it does not have the engine type stamped in.

    is this a replacement engine??

    "KD" or "AT" for factory replacement is more usual. Not familiar with this.

    yes thats what i also have seen several times....

    any other ideas??

    I'm sure that would be a replacement case. As to the stamping you find, it must be something that a local shop would have done. If you could trace the history of the case, then it might make sense.

    The numbers seems to be made by different stamps i.e. they look different and the size does look different.
