I have a box of some NOS parts I bought a few years ago and I am sure there is something that looks like that in there but I will not be able to check until tomorrow. Do you have the part number I can check against?

    Regards

That's just the vacuum retard diaphragm, used on all Porsche 911 distributors from 72 to maybe 75, not sure of when the part changed. It retards the timing 5 degrees at idle when set correctly, and as soon as the throttle is opened the timing advances 10 degrees.

The original ones work quietly. A lot of the replacements will click like a loose valve adjuster because of the singular pulse of the two vacuum sources. A restrictor may correct the clicking if you encounter it. Gled

    Hi,

maybe one from an early BMW 2800CS might work, same size dist. housing. Part # 12111353118 available for $105.00 from pelican. I have a 71 2800CS in my shop now, I can check it tomorrow and see if it is an advance or retard vacumn diaphram, can't remember at the moment

    Thanks, Rick

What's the Bosch number of the distributor?
    If your distibutor is 0 231 169 008 the number of the advance unit is 1 237 121 459 .
Bosch Classic has quite a good website where you can research a lot this stuff.
    Cheers
