W: 911 Coupe, non-matching ok, driver, project ok, Budget $15k - NYC -

Hello, longtime lurker.

I've been a fan of the more classic air-cooled 911s my entire life, and It's come time to look for one of my own.

As the title states, I'm looking for a 911. My budget is around $15k for a decent drivable specimen.

It does not need to be numbers-matching nor perfect, but strong drivetrain and minimal rust preferred. As long as there is no life-threatening issue with the car, it will be considered.

I prefer a COUPE. Color does not matter (especially if unoriginal anyway)

I am located in NYC area, but am comfortable with long-distance if the price is right.

I'm also on pelican parts and have been scouring Craigslist for cars - currently have inquired about 25+ cars in the last few weeks ranging from 1 hour away to one 1-hour flight away. If the price is right for the right car, it's worth it.

As for the first two comments, I have already come across a few - about 25 total - within this price range on craigslist and another Porsche forum. All of which are what I am looking for. Running, drivable, "okay" cars. "decent drivable specimen" does not mean "concours quality"

Also, anyone know why my other thread was deleted in the "other porsche Cars..." area of the forum? I figured if I'm looking at car with a large year range that two separate threads would be appropriate...

Maybe you are looking at mid to late 70s cars? You should certainly be able to find one in the price range that you are looking at. I just don't see a nice longhood driver being available in the 15K range.
