Are you sure it's 65? The 64 - early 64 cars that I have seen have the 356 T6 style (w/o dimple) knob.

The knob you are offering I have seen on MY67.

Wow T 6`s had no dimple........I thought all 356 had dimples & the earliest of 911`s too......the one I have without dimples is not a re- make after all !!!

From what I have seen, also in the 912 models, the first cars got the round bakelite shift knob without the shift pattern. The 4 speed cars got the 356 shift knob. I can't say what a 64 had but I know that 65-66 era 912s got this same round knob. There was a window decal that showed the shift pattern on cars with this knob.

The repros are not bakelite plastic like this original so there is a difference.

Would be nice if John Straub could let us know what his early 65 has.

300134 had the 356 style knob w/ dimple
301585 had the 356 style knob w/ dimple

304598 has a round Bakelite knob with a distinctive dimple... No shift pattern!
