    looking for 917K David Piper Watkins Glen 1971

    All,
    I seek detailed pics of Dvaid Piper's 917 engaged in the 6 hours of Watkins Glen in 1971.
    Green delivery.

    Thanks Chuck, each single piece helps. I need to buy the book though
    I am a bit puzzled with the colors of this beauty. The green varies from one pic to another. I have a model of it which shows a green very close to viper green, but on some pictures it look like a darker one...

    I spoke to David Piper at the Solitude Revival back in 2011 and he told me he had a few sets of bodywork for the car - multiple liveries as well as the fact that the paint color probably changed slightly each time it was painted due to whomever was mixing.

    The color used was officially BP Green.
