    Door stop doesn't work

    Why me?

I'm putting together a former track rat with a broken left door stop.

Piece of cake, right? I put in a new door stop and can't open the door more than 2 feet. The bar that connects to the hinge post isn't reaching. I go back to the original style (wheel/spring/bar) door stop and the length of the bar is identical.

I take the replacement door bar to my favorite fabricator and have 22mm added. Now the door opens to the perfect distance.

No collisions. Door shell is original. Cannot see any reason why I had to extend the door stop bar. But it worked. Am I the only one?

Maybe you had a door stop from a 914? I think the bar is shorter.
