This 1968 911 was purchased new in Massachusetts by a Raytheon engineer who had the car up until 1981. Apparently he had a little off road excursion (rumor is that it was in Franconia Notch, for you New Englanders) and the right side body panels were dented. No tub or suspension damage. He parked the car in his garage and there it sat. A number of years later he sold (or traded) it to the guy that plowed his driveway every winter. He kept it for quite a few years. The car is complete, original, and a project!

The pictures pretty much sum it all up. There is serious rust underneath in the rear torsion tube on the driver’s side. Longitudinals appear and feel solid. The pans are not horrible, but there is some rust in the front pan and torsion bar area. The floors are solid. The rockers and jack points have rust, driver’s side being the worst. The paint is original….for whatever that is worth! The glass is also original with the exception of the front windshield. The spare is original with the original stickers still on the tire.

The engine is a 901/14, which is an aluminum case. While I do not have a Kardex, based on the serial number and the number of the motor, I suspect this to be original and numbers matching. It does not appear that the engine has ever been out of the car. It also retains the original cam driven smog pump. There is evidence of a minor carburetor fire on the driver’s side as the venturi is melted. No other fire damage exists in the engine compartment. The original engine pad is in place and in excellent condition. Fuel pump and other components are all correct and original to the car. The motor turns freely. No attempt has been made to start the engine. The gearbox is a 5 speed 901.
Where this car shines is the interior. The original radio is in place as are all the other switches, etc. The seats are in good shape as are the door panels, rear seats, dash, and gauges. The headliner is ok with a small rip in the driver’s side C pillar. The trunk retains all the original wiring and fuse panel. The smuggler box is clean and surprisingly rust free. The owner’s manual and original keys (in the original dealer”s key fobes) are present.
Brakes and suspension are, well, present. It does roll freely.

As stated this is a project. Perhaps your favorite uncle had one just like this. Maybe you have always pined for an Irish Green ’68 911 with worlds of patina. Maybe you just like a huge project to spend the remainder of your life completing… Either way, I found the car had an interesting story and was pretty amazed that it was complete and unmolested (except for the bruises!)
I have additional detailed photos.
Offered at $19,500 or reasonable offer. Seriously, I’d like some offers. The car is located in New Hampshire, which is where I am right now.
