Auction talk... OK, how about the withdrawal of the so-called 'McQueen 917' from the auction?

There was a good deal of discussion about the car and its provenance following the article in Octane magazine. The car has now been removed from Gooding & Co's listing for Pebble Beach. But since then, silence...
Has anyone on here heard anything more, I wonder?

    The Gulf 917? Interesting.

I am curious about the very early Cars, '65, '66.

The new Event, Werks Réunion? Sounds Great...

    Gooding lists a '65 and a '66:

    http://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1966-porsche-911-2/

The estimates are astronomical but these cars appear to be more rare than most. The '65 ($450,000 - $550,000) is chassis number 300250 and the '66 ($400,000 - $500,000) is billed as an unrestored single owner car. It has fitted luggage--where else can you get fitted luggage for a mere half million dollars?

sneak preview for Werks Reunion....a very well known collector is bringing the 1st 911 to roll of the line (1964) and the last 356 to roll out of the factory. Should be an article about these cars in PCA EBrake that comes out every Tuesday to members.

We also hired the CHP to help direct traffic out of Rancho Canada in the afternoon. Those who have attended Legends may remember that making a left was almost a game of chicken.
