Did the 1969 911T have license plate lamps?

I bought a 1969 911T to resurrect, and I'm puzzled about license plate lamps that are hanging free at the rear of the car, not actually attached to any structural element; they appear to be an incredibly amateurish install, easily removed. Looking at many photos, I don't see any evidence that the '69 T is supposed to have license plate lamps, though the 1969 911T owner's manual mentions license plate lamps. Are there supposed to be license plate lamps and, if so, what does the housing look like and how is it all installed?

    Thanks,

    Rich

They are located in the deck lid.

Thank you. I understand. The wire must run down the left side of the deck lid?

In my 1969 911T the cable runs down the left side of the deck lid.

Did somebody install a fiberglass ducktail at some point? That would account for lack of plate lamps

No, it came with a junker rear deck lid, so I have to work from scratch. And it's different than my '67 912 decklid. What does the cable look like, and are there clips that hold it in place?

As far as license plate lights are concerned all 911 and 912 factory lids have lights, and they are all in the same place from 1964 to 1973. Have you ever actually looked at one of these cars?
