    Surprise while stripping out my 911

    Found this under the rear top part of the carpeting...nice find :-) made my day.

    That is no big deal. Those mounts are found on all 911s and 912s from your year model (I am assuming your car is a 68 or 69). The best thing is that your package tray is not the least bit rusty. Now that is a great find!

    Jim I know, but this is just cool to me to have this done already. This is another piece of information to confirm my 911 had a "Rally" past. Tiny things can be full of joy.

    Why does it confirm it had a rally past? Cars (911 and 912) w.o. a rally past have them too.

    I think what Xavier means is that it confirms Porsche's Rally Roots in general. That the company used production chassis as a basis for competition. That there's a lot of homologated stuff on standard production chassis and this confirms it.
