    Permatune Again?

About 6 months ago I replaced a failed Permatune CDI with a new, albeit 10 year old Permatune box that came with the car, a 72T. Yesterday, after a 15 minute drive the car would not start. I came back an hour later and she fired right up and I drove home. Fortunately, I was only 1 mile from home.

I suppose the Permatune is suspect again, but what else should I consider? Coil?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Hugh

What is the voltage measured at battery with engine off? With engine running?

When was last tune up? Points, wires, rotor and cap. There is always a chance the coil is cutting out when hot. As per 304065, is voltage good, if alternator is over or undercharging it cold cause problems. Fuel flow if filter or pump has problems.

Thanks very much for your help. I think I'll start with the CDI box first. I may borrow one and see if that fixes things.
