I miss my blue 74 2.0L. Had it for a few months but sold it to fund my wedding.

I would buy another one in a heartbeat ... such great cars to toddle around in. The wife loved it, too, with the roof off.

2.0 liter 914s are great handling and fun cars to drive. Surprising power to weight ratio and great fuel economy.

From the Petrolicious as an article-

The short-stroke, overhead-valve powerplant displaced 2.0 liters (1971 cc) and made its 100 hp at 5000 rpm, whereas the six had made 110 hp at 5800 rpm. Yet the four matched the six’s torque output of 118 lb-ft, achieving this figure at 3500 rpm instead of 4200 rpm. And it was lighter in weight.

    This does amaze me

Not so amazing when you consider how breathtakingly slow a stock 914-6 is.

As Marco said, a well sorted, solid 4 cyl 914 is a treat to drive and the hollow sounding exhaust note grows on you. Based on the prices of everything else currently, I really think these are undervalued. No reason why great 73/74 2.0 914's shouldn't fetch over 30k on a regular basis in the near future.

What other Porsche (I know, I know) convertible gets 40+ miles to the gallon and is a hoot to drive?

Hmmm, the rear-view mirror? That is the only stainless on my 914 other than the non-stock heat exchangers.

Ferrous vs non-ferrous metals are of no consequence to an auction catalogue word-smith.

Neck and neck in the 0-50 race.

    0-100?
I'm afraid a 1600cc Ford Pinto would spank both badly.

Let's drop a few out of an airplane and see which one bounces first...

Back in the day Car and Driver did a comparison test between the two.
