removing sc flares on a 72T targa replacing with 75?

picked up some 75 narrow body targa rear fenders as i was under the impression that the fender wheel flares are the same size that came on a 72.
we are getting to the point to remove the steel sc flares that a previous owner lap welded to the rear and want to make sure that the 75 will be ok to mate with the 72 bumper etc..
question are 75 targa rear fender flares the same as 72 targa rear fender flares?

    thanks

75 flares will work just fine on a 72.

The later part contour is right, but the ledge for seating the bumper seal is different, and there's a "tab" missing on the quarter panel to bolt to the tab on the bumper. Neither problem is insurmountable.
