    Oil Dipstick tube

    Hey everyone

the tube for my oil dipstick in the oil filler is now separated. the welds gave way. Is there a way I can get it welded back. Was thinking a tac weld well do, but does it need to be fig welded. I don't think it is aluminum, but you never know.

Anyother suggestions on how to repair....

Assuming you're dealing with a 71 tank,,,,just remove the tube and take it to welding shop, yes, its steel, should be able to get in there with a mig welder. (but I've never had to do this!)
