A few places recover but Lakewell does great work. Your can send in to do both or they will send you a DIY kit. https://www.lakewell.com/

Looks like Lakewell sends out their steering wheels to Dallas Custom pictures they use has Don's background color in them!

I just saw the pic and was thinking the same thing. Dallas does great work and Don is a pleasure to work with.

I'm starting an ST project and have found a 914 wheel on eBay with part no. 914 347 804 10 and dated 3/70. This hasn't been mentioned anywhere in this thread I believe and wondered if anyone is aware of it? Is it the same as 914 347 805 10 but just earlier produced? It has the flat hub but looks like its not leather covered and needs recovering etc.

Just installed an 805.10 on my 70E Targa and it feels great; don’t think I will ever go back to aftermarket like MOMO. Super sturdy and the perfect size. Must say though, 805.10s are getting harder to find and re-wrapping one cost me +$500.

What is the correct rim girth for a thick-covered wheel please?

    Thanks.
