What is status on all this?

I found a wheel with no. 914 347 809 00 and wondering how it will fit on my 911 from '71?
All plastic on the back of the wheel is removed.

Will it need a extension hub, will it fit ok or is this a no go?

    Any advise will be appreciated.

    Frans,

Tons of info. on this site, search. Anyway, it is a bolt on. But to get the turn signal cancel to work, you have to drill and tap holes for the turn signal cancel ring..not too difficult. Search and you will find. Thanks.

    Thanks Allen.
I tried to find a definitiv answer if this specific part no. would fit without any issues. So to prevent ending up with a wheel that is rubbish I asked here, sorry.
But again, thanks for your answer Allen.

    Porsche 911 ST/GT or 914-6GT Wheel

Since this is a sticky I thought I would add pictures of my 914.347.803.10 thick grip factory racing wheel. It is dated 4/70 so would not be an RSR wheel too early for that but for sure it was a racing department wheel for either a 911 ST/GT or 914-6 GT, could also be ordered by customers without a race car. Still has its original 3 5/8" leather wrap on it and has cross stitching throughout no baseball stitching at the spokes. Also note there is no padding on the spokes and very minimal leather material on the step down to the metal spokes.

    Real RSR Steering Wheels

Thanks Mike. Nice wheel. Here is mine with a 4/72 date code; same part number and "specs." I had to restore mine since the leather had a tear and the p.o. had inscribe his license number on the wheel. I saved the original felt and had it reused so it ended up just like yours, factory !

"Someone" used my old wrap as a pattern, before this wheel, he didn't do it this way but I had him do it. He is Don, at Dallas Steering Wheels and has done a lot of wheels for me. He's a great guy and I recommend him. Thanks.
