Price Check: NOS early alloy wood wheel '64/65 unused

    Hi all,

After a few approaches I'm trying to get an idea for an as close to NOS, unmounted alloy (very light!) early wood wheel. No splits, scratches, dings, just a lovely, original piece. "wow". I've had it many, many years. I put it on the 901 once, then decided it was just too good to "use" so it lasted about an hour on the car......

Came to me via the local concessionaire that was cataloged on the shelf as a spare part "back in the day" and never mounted/needed. He souvenired it when the business changed hands. Has a decent "hockey puck" button too.

I'd appreciate via PM any input.

    Cheers + thanks

This may act as a reference point of some sort:

Wheel only (sans puck) weight of 978gms- these early alloy ones are VERY light.

There is a brushed, anodised type finish to the black spokes, a bit like the stainless steel brushed finished to a fine Swiss watch. The varnish on the inner alloy ring stops just short of the black paint of the spokes, and this varnish gives this inner alloy ring a golden hue.

    Not really.

It's beautiful. Much too nice to put dirty hands on.

BTW: Since I'm still getting a handle on the English language doesn't sans mean without?
Or maybe I don't know what a puck is? Thought I did.

NOS is NOS. Used is used. There is a difference. Let's see a HiRes picture of the hub with the hockey puck removed.

    I don't know Jim, that's pretty close.

I sold John A a couple of NOS sport seats years ago.

Never had the heart to tell him I farted in the left seat before it got boxed up.

So was that used, NOS, or new damaged goods?

Brushed anodize as opposed to dipped?.......
