    Auction Description:
Show restoration with $76,000 in receipts.
This unique Porsche 914 has been rebuilt with a 3.0-liter Porsche engine and transmission and restored to show standards. The car originated as a California 914 that was completely disassembled, restored and rebuilt. A very strong 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with Mahle forged pistons and other modifications was fitted in place of the original engine, mated to a Carrera 5-speed to handle the increased power. The body and interior were restored to as-new condition, including the correct bright yellow finish and interior materials. A Momo steering wheel is another well-considered modification. The car rides on refurbished 16” Fuchs wheels with Porsche centers. Receipts for the work, done to a very high standard, are available with the car.
This specially constructed 3.0-liter 914 has taken the 914-6 concept to another level, ready to be shown or enjoyed by an enthusiastic owner.

Maybe nice, but a lot of money for a converted 914.

+1. I wonder if the buyer realized it was a converted 4-banger?
