Beautiful! I'll be there in one of my 911's just 5 weeks from now followed by a couple weeks exploring the riviera. Can't wait.

    Greetings Thomas,
You are fortunate to be able to drive to these wonderful countries.
Wish I could drive my SWT in Italy. Lots of water in the way!
Last visit to Italy I rented a Fiat Punto. Not quite the same experience.

Pirulero, what a small world!!! We rented a house near Lucca, so Forte dei Marmi, Pietrasanta were close by. We left from Geneva, went into Italy through the Col du Simplon, and drove down to Lucca stopping overnight at the lake Orta. Now visiting Mantova to see the Mantegna frescoes. The car has been running great, we almost never had the top on, and cruised at 110/120 km/h. Pretty much the perfect car for this sort of trip:

Milou, excellent choice of car and itinerary. Also lake Orta is very nice and romantic.
If you pass by Milan we can meet up!

@livefromNY, which riviera will you be exploring?

Caro Thomas come stai? What a beautiful trip, did You meet Massimo? I'm having a hard time to enjoy open air driving here in the alps, it's raining everyday.
    Ciao da Cortina!
