Engine Weight - Long Block 2.0L

I am getting ready to ship a complete longblock on half-pallet, approx. weight? Going from Texas to California, has anyone used www.engineshipping.com? Any Ideas?

    Thanks,

The '86 3.2 I shipped to Arizona from NY was around 400lbs. for $500 3 years ago. Strapped to a pallet and shrink wrapped.

The figure that sticks in my mind is that a complete two liter 901/01 engine weighs about 405 pounds. I can't find you a source for that. A magnesium-case engine would weigh less.

I've heard 450 a lot, but that may have been for later cars.

It included intake, but no exhaust.

FYI, the info is in the Technical Data section of the FWM, under Weights and Measures. As was said, 406 lbs for the engine (and 110 lbs for the trans "complete with oil").

Thanks, I'm guessing intake and exhaust are approx 130lbs, so maybe 250 -280lbs for a mag engine.

A 914 engine weighs 250. I don't think your intake and exhaust are 130lbs. I bet your looking at 350 + pallet or crate.
