Why do you say that? I see headers, side shift gearbox, sloppy numbers and an extra temp sender on the breather cover, but on the whole it looks legit?

Ignition switch is where it should be on a six. It has the wrong interior, should have a fixed passenger seat and different door panels.

Check out the front trunk those two round supports around the spare tire do not belong in an early 914. COA says this is a tangerine car, no Tangerine paint anywhere, back trunk has the jack clips in the wrong place they should be on the left side by the wheel well. That tool kit is a joke, none of the interior is correct, miss matched seats, door panels, dash knobs are all wrong, heat/air control unit is a later one, on and on. All vin markings look suspect, I think they were moved into this later style body. Either these guys are crooks or someone pulled one over on them.

I see all your points. Hard to fake the ignition switch, steering column, throttle and heater lever though... I see a little tangerine on the headlight doors. I'm definitely not an expert here, just trying to learn!

Ok, looking some more at the pix... Seeing more what you mean that this car has been rebodied potentially. What's with the underbody front sway bar? Did Porsche ever do that or is that an aftermarket thing?

If it wasn't so darn hot outside I'd go have a look at it in the name of science. Plus there's a good gun shop in Sunnyvale...

Those are all just parts that are easily moved from one car to the next. Where's the center dash vent that should be on any early 914? Lot's of other incorrect details and that's only from the limited pictures shown.

- also has retracting belts so it must have the metal "pocket" in the firewall that came on late model cars. That would require a lot of welding mods to fit in an early car.

Ok so the headlight buckets came from the original car, there is no other place on the car with the tangerine paint showing. The number stamped into the rear trunk floor is in the wrong location for an early car, it should be in the center and there is no Tangerine paint in that rear trunk.

They show the production # in one photo, and that production # is for a 914/4. So yes, this car has been rebodied. I believe it is probably a 73 or later by the front trunk.
