I need to understand the position of the transmission (915 type) shifter rod that exits the rear of the transmission so that it is in gear. I am ready to connect the engine to trans and want to be able to rotate the input shaft via the stub axles to seat it into the clutch disc...I admit to not understanding how that rod operates an therefore am struggling with finding the correct position (pulled out, pushed in, or left/right????) to engage a gear so I can finesse the two units together. Sorry for the mundane question...just not like the Muncie's or Top Loaders I've played with in the past . Thank you all.
