    '65 912 451326 has trans 221466 (902/1); delivered August '65 at factory in US spec.

    So only in 1966 was this trans shared between the 911 & 912 from the same serial range, otherwise each model had it's own serial range.
    Dave's chart is probably the best guideline for this transmission.
    There seems to be no factory chart with '66 transmission serial numbers.

    do you have the date code from this one Frank?
    Oh, and the case casting # also please; trying to figure out the .02 to .0R in that serial range. A photo of them together would be helpful; they are near the diff side cover.

    Number 10 indicates the week, not month, the housing was cast in 1965.

    the progression of casting dates is a bit odd, but I often see these in reverse order; sort of first in last out inventory practice.

    Probably not intended practice, it just occurred that way on occasion.

    The dates were important for quality control, if casting flaws were discovered, but otherwise didn't matter to Porsche if housings were used out of date sequence.

    Jim should pull down all his 901 housings and photograph them for you ;-)
