If you happen to be near this car or other suspected SWTs is to see it in person. One way to tell if it "had" been a SWT at one time, (not a complete given) would be to see if there are any tensioner bars are under the targa roll bar. (http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1217207245.jpg) If they look original and period, there is a better chance that it was a SWT. Even if you had bought a SWT and decided to HWT it, likely you would have retained the tensioner bars in place. All you do is peek under the targa bar and see if there is a pair of tensioners. The should look used and partly patina even with the best of polishing.

Please excuse the "fact finding statements made on this thread, myself included, as I am too trying to get to the bottom of all this hoopla" is that all early targa bars. do have factory metal circular cutouts for tensioners as seen in this linked photo. (http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1124973383.jpg). If I am wrong about this, I will stand corrected. Once looking at them, you'll have to take note of these tensioner bars. Your hope is to find something early about them...and not some kind of repro that you can buy aftermarket, no matter how good the job. (http://www.stoddard.com/media/catalo...-40-1_copy.jpg) The link here points to Stoddards "good job" aftermarket tensioner bars.

Missing more than the tonneau clips...but it is rust free

    No dog in this race...
I talked to seller. The car has been modified for a V8 with a lot of metal chopped up, and V8 engine mounts welded in. Part of the rear seats were removed, to fit the engine and trannie...although seller does have some replacement seat metal. Wonder where the sawzall went to find room for the radiator
Original hard window, but seller is quick to point out that it could have been ordered either way. No SWT parts.

This car is in my backyard.

In a trailer park . East San Diego has a notorious reputation for a little evil called TWEEK (Methamphetamine)

Heisenberg's minions might have started to convert this car to V8. I hate tweekers.
