    Weber vacuum source

I'm looking for a vacuum source on my engine, and this location on the driver's side manifold looks like it could be a good option. Am I correct that this spot is a plugged vacuum port where I could add a barb fitting? Thanks for your help! Name: weber_vacuumport.jpg

don't have an answer to that question- but wonder why you want a vacuum source for that motor? I had the same question when I built a 2.7 motor with Webers. The distributor is centrifugal advanced, and the vacuum fitting on it is just for the old fuel injection system I had and isn't needed. So I had no need for a vacuum source which is probably why you don't see one on the Webers.

    But what do I know...

It could work for a distributor with vacuum retard at idle .

If your asking for vacuum at that location the answer is yes. Same location x2 was used to collect vacuum for Sportamatic trans with a large tank at the firewall to accumulate vacuum, with a check valve to keep the tank charged. G

Thanks, all! I'm not planning to use it for distributor advance. I have an exhaust project in the works that needs a vacuum source (I'd share a picture, but fedex unexpectedly changed delivery status from 'scheduled' to 'pending' yesterday ).

And here's what I'm using the vacuum source for...just a couple things left to button up before seeing how it sounds! :-)

Interesting. Curious why you'd want to close off an exhaust?

The muffler has the normal "sport exhaust" dual outlets at the back. The actuators (one on each side of the muffler) control butterfly valves that open/close dump tubes off the side of the muffler. This should let the sound go from pretty quiet to sport loud.
