    "base for spare wheel"

Has anybody ever seen one of these? In umpteen years around these early Porsche cars I have never seen one of these. Anyone have any insight/photos? Thought I may have seen a post a LONG time ago but cant find it.
    Thanks

I have seen them on grey 64-65 painted tanks only. It's a tar? "head" that I think is there to prevent the spare wheel from sliding.

Thanks Guys. So it would seem they were used on the early tanks before they were sprayed with undercoating.
