1967 Targa upper front glass frame to windshield frame seals

    Hello,

I need to change the seals that connect the side front window frame to the windshield frame (grey on the photo).

I looked at the Sierra Madre parts site but can't seem to identify it precisely, could you help me find the correct replacement part for both left and right sides?

    Many thanks,

That should be all one seal, it goes up the 'A' pillars, and across the top of the windshield header. To the best of my knowledge Porsche only sells the superseded version that doesn't fit the earlier cars. Dan Pechtel of "Cars.Inc" sells the seals for for the early cars that he has made from original seal examples. I've got one of his for a 72 but haven't installed it yet, but others have said they fit well.

Dan's part is the only correct one. Less expensive too. The factory and OEM seals are way too fat. Dans piece is a perfect fit. Maybe he sells to SM, but safer to buy direct from him, you are a bit far for an exchange.

Dan is around the corner from me. Or at least only one town away. He currently has my '67S top for restoration. Be happy to go pick up a seal and send it to you if you would prefer to go trough a Registry member. As an aside and of general interest, Dan tells me that as soon as he finishes a top he wants to put it in place and leave it for at least two weeks. The glue and dressing need that long to properly cure. That's why I am at least six months away from having him do the work.

Thank you very much for the fast response. I've just ordered a seal from Dan.

Interesting guy. He has bought tops for years now and his restorations are first class. Has recently branched out into parts, but he still is primarily top guy.

He does great work, he did mine 4 years ago and it is very nice. Yes you need to leave it in the sun for a few days until everything is dry and stretched.
