    911/53B engine: does it exist?

    A friend has reported that he saw the data of a 2.4S that was built with a 911/53B engine: has anyone ever heard about it?

    The 911/53 engine was the standard 911S engine for manual trans in 1973. I have never heard of a suffix on the engine type number to come up with type 911/53B engine.

    First time I hear about that ... unless it's some special designation for internal purposes ... who knows ... any picture of the engine type, just to check it?
