    Hydro pneumatic E strut

    First off who made these?
Next I have this 70 E and it has these on it and yes they are shot. I hear they cannot be fixed. really with all the focus on original and I finally have a matching number car, there is no way to fix these?
I would like to use these, no insert availiable? Seal kit, some master craft mans in N. California with a fix.
I have and want to use the alloy calipers, what is the best path?

In the old days people converted them to conventional shocks. You need to check that torsion bars will retro-fit, I've seen one 911 A arm and one 914 A arm on the same Hydro car. It will look correct except for torsion bar adjusters.

So these being all original set up I have to change the front suspension, a arm torsion bars etc

You will need to change your a arms, cross member and add torsion bars, along with machining your struts to accept regular shocks. It has been done 1000s of times.

Were the shock towers, etc. re-enforced on the Es with this setup - similar to what folks do today when switching to coil-overs since the struts will be providing both support and dampening?

I had a pair of hydropneumatic front struts and they were made by Boge. I don't know if they offer rebuild kits.
