1965 Porsche 911 Aluminum Engine Case 901/01 2.0L Alloy Cylinder Block #902862 plus..

For Sale is a Used Porsche 911 2.0 liter Aluminum engine. The engine number is 902862 which means it is a 1965 (#900361-903550). Casting numbers on each side of the case is 901.101.101.01 and 901.101.102.01. Engine type 901/01 with the number 2762 below the engine type. Engine block is in great shape with no visual damages. This engine has been in storage for about 5 years. It was running before disassembled and put away.

When it was disassembled the heads (#901.104.306.2R dated (1) 11-69 and other (5) 10-68 K1819d) were sent off to a local machine shop and went through and had a basic valve grind, honed with new guides and seals (invoice available). A new 911 2.0L ring set was purchased (80x1:5 +2+4mm STD) Goetze Ring Set. As far as i can tell everything is there to put it back together. Rare 1965 block. $15,000.00 for complete engine, less carbs. Pics available

The original Solex carbs are missing but I have a set of Webber Carbs (#401DT3C1 1011 and #401DT3C 1218) which is available for an additional $2,000.00. Thank you

Probably June / July 65 and around VIN # 302720 - others on the forum will have better idea of what car it originally came from

Should be '65 production, '66 model year. Easy to confirm, it will have casting dates on the block. Contact Davep and he can most likely give you a narrow range of chassis #'s the engine would have been originally installed in.
