Thread: Glass Targa Roof

    Question Glass Targa Roof

I thought I had learned alot about Porsches, but occasionally I realize I haven't heard of everything rare---specifically, perusing 70s-80s 911 ads I saw a mention recently that described a "rare glass Targa roof".
It only struck me as odd just now---but never having seen, heard, read of a 'glass' Targa on a vintage car, I suspect this may have been a custom creation.
Is there such a rare factory item in existence?

    Regards,

Could be wrong, but my guess is that's a reference to a Saratoga top.

    Thanks---you are likely correct.
    Just found this: http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...toga-Targa-Top
Plexiglass and not glass, as I assumed. Aftermarket only.

If you want one, I've got one. Very neat at night or in the rain. If you live in a hot climate they are like a greenhouse.
