rubber pieces for bumper overriders... what to do?

    Hey all,

Ok, I am having all four bumper overriders re-chromed. The paint is brand new on the car, so I reason that the overriders should look nice and spiffy. What I want to ask you board folk is what do you do about the rubber that goes on the outside of the overriders, for those of you with post 67 - pre 73 cars? Is there really a choice besides buying repro rubber pieces to bolt on? The old rubber is not in terrible condition, but it isn't going to look fancy enough to put on beautifully re-chromed pieces, if you catch my drift....

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

The repro over-rider rubber I have used has necessitated elongating the slot in the over rider as they didn't get the studs in the rubber in the right position. That can happen when you 'eyeball' stuff instead of actually measuring.

I reused my decent originals as all repro's I'd seen were a tad too long, and 'over-hanged' the guard.
