    Anything wrong with 9113600989?

    I stumbled upon this ad for a 1973 2.4 S with alleged original 2.7 RS engine 6630967 http://www.autoscout24.it/Details.as...&asrc=st|sr,as

Apparently, the engine matches with 9113600989, which is referenced several times on the web, e.g.

    https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/16249/lot/217/

    http://www.my911carrerars.com/known_...sis=9113600989

Now: which engine is fake / tampered?

P.S. 9113600989 has been re-shelled but the ad claim the original engine and trans have been retained ...

I'd say this part of the Bonham's ad on RS 0989...

    Saleroom notices
Following a detailed inspection during viewing by a respected marque authority, it has become apparent that this car has been re-shelled with a later bodyshell at some time. There is evidence of several later panels having been fitted, some of them clearly renewed during recent refurbishment. The original 1973 chassis and engine numbers, together with correct RS engine, have been retained. The car would therefore continue to be eligible for various historic motor sports disciplines. PLEASE NOTE THE REVISED ESTIMATE FOR THIS CAR IS £70,000 - 90,000.

'. . . Supplied new to Italy, this left-hand drive 911 RS Touring has been verified as correct by Porsche and retains its original engine and gearbox. The car was in good condition when purchased by the current owner in 1998, although incorrect in detail, and circa eight years ago was despatched to classic Porsche specialists Sportwagen, of Great Wakering, Essex for restoration. Kept in a heated garage and used only sparingly since completion, the car is presented in very good condition throughout and offered with restoration invoices, current MoT/road fund licence and Swansea V5 registration document . . .'
