    Old T-Shirts

    Just moved. New place . . . new job . . .

Un-packing some stuff that's been packed away for a while --- 5 years, some of it

    Some longer --- some T-shirts

It's funny --- how (or when) did T-shirts become souvenirs, any way? It's almost expected to have one, to commemorate the shows one attends. I've attended a lot of shows. Businesses have 'em, too. And clubs

    Anyway . . .

    . . . from the 25th annual Monterey Historics --- 1998. Porsche's 50th anniversary, too. Actually took The Whole Family to this. And my Roadster. Got the pictures somewhere --- I swear . . . meanwhile . . .

    . . . here's the shirt

    911S Registry

Here's one that I got from Craig Stevenson

Craig was the guy who first took me under his wing + took me around with him + introduced me to people + took me places + showed me some cars + shared with me his passion for Porsche. We were always doing 356 stuff, so --- when one day he shows-up with this dusty old 911 --- I thought he was nuts. I mean --- this was a guy who had a 356B Roadster with a Four-cam Carrera motor in it . . . running an oil cooler outtova helicopter, fercryinoutloud

    So now --- he has this dorky orphan '67 911S? I told him . . .

What are you doing? That's even not a REAL Porsche!

Anyway, he ignored me + started telling me about this bunch o' boneheads starting-up something called the Early 911S Registry. I told him, Back Then . . .

    . . . nobody cares about those cars . . . .

    Von Dutch Exhibition . . .

    . . . Laguna Beach, maybe . . . 20 years ago? Got the catalog from the show, somewhere . . . like a lotta things

Anyway --- 'flying eyeball' = none other than Kenny Howard . . . aka Von Dutch

Talk about a one-of-a-kind. Yeah --- he could pin-strip just about anything put in front of him

    But built a VW-powered motorcycle, too . . .

    More 'Von Dutch' . . .

Wonder if this little episode ever turns-up when this Gullwing's 'provenance' gets disclosed?

    Super-double-extra-groovy, baby . . . .

“After I turned this thing loose on the world it caused accidents,” recalled Dutch. “People couldn’t accept a flamed 300 SL Gullwing back then. They thought it was desecrating a shrine.”

Anyone know the whereabouts of that gullwing?
