    Spyderwerks,

My car (#11880001) was built on august, 22, 1967, and it was equipped with "light wheels" (fuchs), according to the cardex and COA. 5.5j x 15.

Is the question directed at a '67 rather than a '68?

1966 912. My first car. Bought it Nov. 25, 1988. Still have it.

Different markets classify them differently. I believe the question is about a 1967 model year vehicle built before August 1967. In the US, an August 67 built car is a '68. In much of Europe, it's considered a 67.

Definitely a 67 912 , ser. # 550454, making it one of the last 912 targas built in 1967, COA shows light alloy wheels , but doesn't specify size., they are 5 1/2 x 15 and believed to be original to the car. The COA also doesn't mention build date, maybe when they weren't too specific re such matters. I will get a Kardex which hopefully will fill in the blanks.

    Thanks for all who replied.

Very nice car. While awaiting the Kardex, you can check the date codes on the wheels!

    +1
I have seen 5.5X15 dated 6/67 so it isn't impossible...... until you look at the wheel dates and compare to the production date.....
