Thread: 1969S 2.0 MFI Engine

    1969S 2.0 MFI Engine

This is a 1969S 2.0 MFI engine I bought a year or two ago in a job lot of spares from a guy who cut the rest of car up it came from.

So we have an engine which was stripped some time back by the previous owner. There’s one head missing and some damage to the lower part of the case were the oil relief valve sits which has some JB weld over it (repairable). All the valve springs are present (one broken) along with the rockers, bolts, retainers, etc.

The engine number is very faint and looks like it been restamped over the years, but can be read as 960258 which equates to a 67S. All the case stampings are 69S so I going with the case stamping for originality.

I haven't measured anything, but I thinking this would make a good core to build an 2.0”S” MFI engine with the purchase of the additional missing parts.

Pictures tell a thousand words but below is an overview of what’s included.

    Included:
    Everything in the pictures.
5 "S" year stamped cylinder heads with valves
    Crank
    Rods
    Oil cooler
    Timing gearing
    Camshafts
    Pistons
    Pistons unmeasured
    Case 901/10 matched half’s
    Through bolts

    Missing:
    Oil pump
    One head

Price is £4000 GBP plus shipping worldwide

That poor case! I can see why you're wearing gloves. Did you buy this from Jacque Cousteau?

I'm still a little fuzzy on the number; you're saying that the original '69 case number is no longer visible?

    Hi,

The cases numbers are all still visible (69S) and untouched including the matched half numbers. It's the engine number thats been tampered with as per the pictures.

Everything else, pistons, rods, crank, heads are 69S

Didn't buy it from Jacque Cousteau
