301379 known here in the Forum?

I bought the 301379 this year and wonder whether anybody knows this car. It is champagne yellow, engine 901477.

Currently the car looks like this. I am not sure I want to finish it as a racer, or bring it back to vintage original.
The car was delivered in California by PC Pacific in May 65 to Walter Matson and was imported into Sweden in 1991, then it was painted blue. In 1997 it was imported into The Netherlands and taken apart and left untouched for more than 10 years. The bodywork was restored and it got a FIA rollcage a couple of years ago, then left unfinished to collect dust. I bought it this year.

Any knowledge on the car is very welcome!Name: photo 10a.jpg

Wow, it's only three chassis numbers away from my car, 301382. My car's also champagne yellow--they must have been part of the same batch.

    I have Engine # P-901505 and Transmission # 101422.

It must have sat around waiting for a while since your car made it to California before my car was picked up in Germany. It reached California by September 1965.

Here are some photos from 2009 (the last time I took a lot of photos of it):

I've since obtained Californie YOM (black) license plates and chromed hubcap crests.

    Wow, nice Jim, thanks!
Was it maybe delivered to a US soldier stationed in Germany? Many cars found their way to US via that channel at the time.
Was your car delivered with the Talbot mirror? My car also has this mirror and since the Durant was not in the boxes of stuff that came with the chassis when I bought it, I assume it was delivered with the Talbot.

I don't know exactly what to make of the name "Charles Blandsford." It sounds like a character from Alfred Hitchcock. Wilhelmstraße 60 might have been a hotel; somebody else had a car picked up at Auto Rossel by someone "residing" at Wilhelmstraße 58. Right now there's a commercial building at Wilhelmstraße 58-60.

For most of its early life my car belonged to someone who lived in the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles area) who was not Charles Blandsford. I heard he was an airline pilot.

My Certificate of Authenticity said my car came with Talbot mirrors, right and left. Talbots weren't mounted at the factory, and I'm not certain they were ever mounted until I restored the car. Maybe somebody just wanted a cheap pair of Talbots. Nowadays, there are folks who'll order a new Porsche with ceramic brakes for an extra $ 7,000 then take them off and resell them for $ 12,000 or so.
