    Oil line routing 69S

Finally getting the body issues addressed and as the passenger side outer rocker needs to be replaced we noted that the lines for the front oil cooler are routed through the rocker instead of mounting them on the bottom of the car like later cars. The rockers have been replaced before (and not very well) and I am wondering why they would go to the trouble of routing them this way unless that is how they already were. I don't want to lose this aspect of originality if it is correct. Any ideas? TIA.

That's one of the special things about an early S. My '71 has them through the rocker as well.

Well, that's what I thought but there has been some pretty "interesting" prior sheet metal work done on the car so anything seems possible. Thank you, Max.
